Service Description

Service Description "You’ve seen it on TikTok, now make it in real life! The 'Burn-Away' cake is the ultimate party trick—a cake that literally catches fire to reveal a hidden message or image underneath. In this exclusive 2-hour private workshop, Francine takes the mystery (and the danger) out of this viral trend. You will learn the specific engineering required to make this work safely and effectively. We will cover working with wafer paper, creating the necessary 'fire gaps' with buttercream dams, and mastering the vintage piping styles that frame the burning center perfectly. It is equal parts science and art!" What's included in the private class: 1. The Mechanics of Burning: Understand the difference between wafer paper and icing sheets, and how to layer them to create the burn effect without ruining the cake. 2. Structural Piping: Learn how to pipe the essential 'dam' borders that create the air gap needed for the fire to burn cleanly. 3. Vintage Decoration: Since these cakes usually feature intricate borders to hide the paper edges, you will learn Lambeth-style piping techniques. 4. Custom Reveal: You will choose from a selection of 'Hidden Images' (or send us one in advance!) to place inside your cake. 5. Safety First: Expert guidance on how to light and extinguish the cake safely for events. 6. Take-Home Cake: You leave with a fully decorated 6-inch Burn-Away cake (unlit) so you can perform the 'reveal' at home for your friends and family. What do you need to bring? Simply bring a notebook and pen to note down the priceless tips and techniques you'll learn throughout the class. We'll handle the rest by providing aprons and offering light refreshments during the workshop.
